Summary

Prof. Dr. Asad Ullah Khan obtained his BEng. Chemical Engineering degree from the NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi in the year 1986. He earned his Master’s degree in the year 1992 and PhD in the years 1997 in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London. After PhD he his post-doctorate research at Imperial College, University of London England during the years 1997-2000. He also worked as Research Fellow at the University of Surrey Guildford UK from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Khan has diverse professional experience to his credit. He started his career as Assistant Production Manager at Synthetic Resin Industries, Sialkot and then joined Pakistan Oil Refinery Limited Karachi as Graduate Trainee Engineer for one year. He also worked as Junior Engineer (Chemical) NPSL Islamabad from 1988 to 1992. During his stay abroad, Dr. Khan worked as Research Scientist at A & R Polymer Products Limited UK from 2002 to 2005. Upon his return from abroad, he joined as Director Polymer Industries, Gujranwala. On the basis of his academic qualification and experience he was offered a position of Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore in the year 2008. By virtue of his excellent academic and research contributions, he attained the position of Professor in the year 2011. In view of his competence, dedication and hard work, he was appointed as HOD and Chairman, Department of Chemical Engineering in year 2010. He made tireless efforts to establish state-of-the-art laboratories of international standards. He held key positions in various statutory bodies of COMSATS. In 2022 he has been associated with the Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Chemical & Materials Engineering, NUST, as professor. Dr. Khan has published over 100 journals/conference/book-chapter articles with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 300. He holds membership of various professional bodies related to his field. Dr. Khan has substantially contributed for the uplift of educational standards and quality. He possesses versatility, vision and academic acumen which have marked him as a distinguished academician and successful administrator.
