Esha Asad, a Master’s candidate from the School of Chemical and Materials Engineering (SCME), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, completed an international internship at Guangdong Ocean University (GDOU) under the “International Youth Talent to China Exchange Program” (CEP Project) sponsored by the China International Talent Exchange Foundation. The program offered her an academic experience emphasizing hands-on learning and collaboration. A highlight was a visit to Zhanjiang Yuefeng Environmental Protection Power Co., Ltd., a modern waste-to-energy facility showcasing sustainable engineering technologies. She also visited the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), where she presented her research and led a session for GDOU undergraduates on Aspen HYSYS and machine learning, which was well received. Esha praised GDOU’s inclusive environment, modern facilities, and cultural openness that made international students feel welcome, expressing gratitude for the enriching experience and admiration for China’s progress, while noting that her exchange would further strengthen collaboration between NUST and its Chinese partners.
