NUST CIPS ORGANISED AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE IMPACTS OF CONFLICT-INDUCED FORCED MIGRATION AND PROSPECTIVE RESPONS

NUST Centre for International Peace & Stability (CIPS), in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), organised an international conference titled, “The Impacts of Conflict-Induced Forced Migration and Prospective Responses,” at the Centre for International Peace & Stability (CIPS), NUST Islamabad Campus, on December 2, 2019. The overarching aim of the event was to generate discussions and address the underlying predicaments of forced migration spurred by conflict and the perilous circumstances that the displaced communities are detained with.
The gathering was graced with the presence of H.E. Mr Bernhard Schlagheck, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Pakistan, who was invited as the Chief Guest to the event. The conference was attended by eminent guests and speakers, such as Major General Muhammad Jaffar HI (M) (Retired), Rector NUML, Mr Igor Ivancic, Assistant Representative (Protection) at UNHCR, Ambassador Farukh Amil, former Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations (Geneva), Prof Dr Martin Sökefeld, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Mr Md Kamruzzaman, and many other national experts.
